<p>BioCare Polyzyme is an enzyme complex providing 13 distinct enzymes in a single capsule, taken with each main meal.</p><p>Proteases break down proteins into smaller peptides and amino acids; protease 3.0 has an acidic pH optimum, and protease 4.5 a less acidic pH optimum. Lipase breaks down fats into fatty acids and glycerol. Amylase, diastase and glucoamylase break down starches into sugars. Lactase breaks down lactose, the sugar found in dairy products. Invertase breaks down sucrose. Cellulase and xylanase break down components of plant fibre. Alpha galactosidase breaks down galacto-oligosaccharides found in legumes. Phytase breaks down phytic acid, found in grains, nuts, seeds and legumes. Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme derived from pineapple.</p><p>Polyzyme is formulated without unnecessary additives.</p><p>BioCare has been formulating nutritional supplements for over 30 years.</p>
