Serrapeptase is a proteolytic (protein-splitting) enzyme with high fibrinolytic activity.
Serretia Serrapeptase is contains 250,000 serratiopeptidase units (SPUs) per dose of 2 capsules. Serratiopeptidase units (SPUs) are a measurement unit used to quantify the activity of the enzyme serratiopeptidase.
Serrapeptase was discovered when scientists studied silkworms and their ability to break down silk cocoons. They found that the silkworm secreted an enzyme responsible for breaking down the silk. While researching the enzyme further, they discovered a specific type of bacteria inside the silkworm that produced the enzyme, now known as Serratia E-15.
Serratia E-15 is used today during the production process of serrapeptase. Good to know: no silkworms are used to produce serrapeptase.
The all-natural, chemical-free acid armor capsules consist of an extra-thick layer of cellulose (vegetable capsules) with a micro-screw closing mechanism to prevent leaks. Acid armor capsules are designed to delay the release of capsule contents for up to an hour, without the use of potentially harmful chemicals.
